Financial Management Philosophy
In a market of increasing money manager fraud, high fees, and countless promotions of the “next profitable trend,” I am a strong proponent of comprehensive, holistic financial planning. I consider the fiduciary responsibility that accompanies being a trusted financial planning professional to be of utmost importance, and go to great lengths to maintain complete transparency within client accounts. I believe working in a fee-only environment enables me to focus on what is truly best for my clients as opposed to working in a commission-based environment, where conflicts constantly exist between client interest and advisor compensation.
Using a recently developed or updated financial plan as a foundation and a guideline, I enjoy working with clients to construct measures to protect their financial future and prepare for future obligations. This includes funding a child’s education, planning for a secure and enjoyable retirement, and ensuring that client heirs will benefit from solid estate planning. All actions place tax efficiency as a top priority. I add value by posing questions that my clients may not have previously considered in order to plan for all possible contingencies. My focused and committed approach allows me to develop life-long relationships with my clients.
I am commonly a guest speaker and write articles for local magazines such as Business Connect, Utah Business Magazine, and Utah CEO. I consistently contributes articles to online magazines such as FiGuide.com, FILife.com (published by The Wall Street Journal) and Advice IQ. Additionally, I am an expert author at EzineArticles.com, and I have been quoted nationally in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, USA Today and Investment News. In 2009, I completed my first e-book titled "Understanding Financial Terms."
